Vocal Video costs $99 a month on Essential, $149 on Pro and $249 on Scale, and every paid plan is billed yearly, so the real entry price is $1,188 paid up front. There is also a free plan and a custom Enterprise tier. The number that decides which plan you need is not the price. It is video processing: Essential includes 4 hours a year, Pro 6 hours and Scale 12 hours, and every video a customer submits has to be processed before you can publish it.
That makes Vocal Video a tool you buy by the hour of footage. Below is every plan as the Vocal Video pricing page lists it, what a processing hour really costs, how many testimonials each plan supports, and where a flat plan is the cheaper answer.
How much does Vocal Video cost?
| Plan | Price | Charged | Video processing | Campaigns | Video requests | Editor seats |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Nothing | 20 minutes a month | 1 active, up to 3 questions | 50 a month | Up to 5 |
| Essential | $99 a month | $1,188 a year | 4 hours a year | 5 at once, up to 5 questions | 12,000 a year | 1 included |
| Pro | $149 a month | $1,788 a year | 6 hours a year | 10 at once, up to 10 questions | 24,000 a year | 1 included |
| Scale | $249 a month | $2,988 a year | 12 hours a year | 15 at once, up to 10 questions | 48,000 a year | 1 included |
| Enterprise | Custom | Contract | Custom limits | Custom | Custom | Custom |
Each paid plan card spells out the arithmetic, for example $99 x 12 months = $1,188, so there is no ambiguity about the commitment. Extra editor seats can be purchased on every paid plan, and Pro and Scale can add more brands. The page does not publish the price of either add-on, so ask before you budget for a team.
Does Vocal Video have a free plan?
Yes. The free plan lets you publish 5 videos and processes the first 20 minutes of video collected each month. Anything collected past 20 minutes waits until the start of the next month. It includes one active collection campaign with up to 3 questions, 50 video requests a month, one brand and up to 5 editors.
The limits that matter for a business are on the output. Free videos are 720p, carry a Vocal Video watermark and cannot be downloaded. That is fine for testing whether your customers will record at all. It is not something you would put on a pricing page.
Does Vocal Video offer monthly billing?
Not on the self-serve plans. Every paid price on the pricing page is shown as a monthly rate with the label billed yearly, and the only charge amounts are the annual totals. If you want to try a video testimonial program for a quarter before you commit, that is the first structural difference to weigh, because the smallest paid purchase is a full year.
What each Vocal Video plan adds
| Feature | Free | Essential | Pro | Scale |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Published video quality | 720p, watermarked, no download | 1080p, no watermark, downloadable | 1080p, no watermark, downloadable | 1080p, no watermark, downloadable |
| Publishing | 5 videos | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Brands | 1 | 1 | 1, more can be purchased | 1, more can be purchased |
| White-labeled collection | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| API and analytics integration | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Motion graphics and 50 extra fonts | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Custom legal releases and workspaces | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Custom domain for collection | No | No | No | Yes |
| Discounted processing upgrades | No | No | No | Yes |
| SSO and a dedicated account manager | No | No | No | Enterprise only |
Two rows push most business buyers past Essential. White-labeled collection, which removes all Vocal Video branding for respondents and adds your own call to action after they submit, starts on Pro. So do custom legal releases, which matter the moment your legal team wants its own wording on the consent a customer signs. In practice the entry price for a branded, compliant program is $1,788 a year, not $1,188.
How does Vocal Video count video processing?
Collected videos have to be processed before they can be published, and the processing allowance is measured in minutes of collected video. The hours on paid plans are annual: 4 hours of processing are included in the Essential subscription for the year, not per month. If you run out, Vocal Video gives you two options, buy more processing or upgrade your plan.
Converting the allowance into a unit price makes the plans easier to compare.
| Plan | Yearly price | Processing minutes a year | Cost per processing minute | 90 second clips a year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | $1,188 | 240 | about $4.95 | about 160 |
| Pro | $1,788 | 360 | about $4.97 | about 240 |
| Scale | $2,988 | 720 | about $4.15 | about 480 |
The clip counts assume every answer is exactly 90 seconds and every take is one you keep. Real programs do worse. If your campaign asks 3 questions and each answer runs a minute, one customer uses 3 minutes, and Essential covers about 80 customers for the whole year. That is under 7 a month.
Why the request allowance is never the limit
Essential allows 12,000 video requests a year, which looks like the generous number on the card. It is not the one you will hit. Suppose you send 12,000 requests and 5 percent of customers answer with 2 minutes of video. That is 600 responses and 1,200 minutes of footage, five times the 240 minutes Essential processes in a year.
So the working constraint is footage, and footage grows with exactly the things that make a testimonial program succeed: more customers asked, more questions per campaign and longer, more specific stories. Plan your tier from expected minutes, and treat the request number as a ceiling you will not reach. A tight video testimonial script with 4 to 6 short prompts is the cheapest way to keep minutes down without losing the specific detail that makes a clip persuasive.
When to send the request so the minutes count
Because every processed minute costs money, the timing of the ask matters more on Vocal Video than on an unmetered tool. The best responses come right after a customer sees a result, usually when onboarding wraps up or a first project ships. Teams that run customer onboarding operations as a defined workflow can trigger the request at that step instead of sending a quarterly blast, which raises the share of minutes that turn into publishable clips.
Is Vocal Video worth it?
For teams whose goal is polished, produced video, yes. Vocal Video is a production tool with collection attached. Its motion graphics, AI effects, branded templates and 1080p output make edited reels without hiring an editor, and custom legal releases are a real advantage for regulated or enterprise buyers. If your testimonials go into ads and sales decks as finished videos, the processing meter is a fair price for that work.
It is a weaker fit for three kinds of buyer. Teams that want written quotes and video on the same wall, since Vocal Video is built around video. Teams that want to try a program for a few months, since there is no monthly billing. And agencies, since extra brands are an add-on on top of Pro or Scale.
| Your program | Vocal Video | Testimonials |
|---|---|---|
| Try video testimonials for 3 months | Essential, $1,188 for the year | Starter, $19 a month, cancel any month |
| 1 brand, about 15 video clips a month | About 270 minutes a year, so Pro at $1,788 | Starter, $180 a year, no minute meter |
| Text and video on one wall | Video first | Both, on every plan |
| Several client brands, branding removed | Pro plus extra brands | Studio, $780 a year, unlimited brands and white-label embeds |
| Edited reels with motion graphics | Pro and above, a real strength | Not a video editor, clips publish as recorded |
The full comparison, including where Vocal Video wins, is on our Vocal Video alternative page, and the wider field of video testimonial software is compared by what each tool meters. If you are pricing other video tools against it, VideoAsk pricing uses a monthly minute meter instead of a yearly one, and Testimonial.to pricing bills per space instead of per minute.
How to choose a Vocal Video plan
Work it out in three numbers. First, estimate yearly footage: customers you expect to record, times questions per campaign, times average answer length. Under 240 minutes fits Essential, under 360 fits Pro, under 720 fits Scale. Second, check whether you need white-labeled collection or your own legal release, which moves you to Pro regardless of footage. Third, count brands, because anything past one is an add-on.
If those numbers are still guesses, get a few real answers first. Run a small round with automated testimonial collection, see how long your customers actually talk and how many reply, and then buy the tier your real footage calls for instead of the one the card suggests.
Collect proof without chasing
Send one link, your customers record a video or text testimonial in seconds with no login, and you embed a beautiful Wall of Love in minutes. Text and video, unlimited, at one flat price.
