WIX - ONE EMBED

Wix Testimonials: Add a Testimonial Slider and Reviews to Wix

Most Wix sites end up with three quotes typed into a strip that nobody has touched since launch. One embed gives you a live slider or wall, video and text together, that updates every time you approve a new testimonial.

In short

There are two practical ways to add testimonials to a Wix site. You can type quotes into a Wix strip or install a testimonial app from the Wix App Market, or you can paste one embed and render a live testimonial section that maintains itself. The native route works for a handful of static text quotes, but every new testimonial is a manual edit in the editor, there is no approval or consent trail, and Wix has no built-in way to play a customer video inside a testimonial layout. Testimonials replaces that with a section you never edit again. You send one request link, the customer records video or types a written testimonial in the browser with no login and no app to install, you import the reviews you already have, approve what appears, and every embedded slider or wall on your Wix site updates on its own. You choose the layout per page, a rotating slider between strips, a full Wall of Love on a dedicated proof page, or one highlighted quote near a pricing button, and you style fonts, colors, and corners so it looks native to your Wix template. Pricing is flat and unlimited, so a studio running several Wix client sites pays once rather than per site.

§ CAPABILITY

What you get

Wix testimonials that founders, agencies, and SaaS teams can put live in minutes

No app to install or renew

Wix App Market testimonial apps come with their own subscription, their own branding, and their own limits. One embed line replaces the whole install.

Video where Wix has none

Wix strips and repeaters carry text quotes. The embed plays browser-recorded video testimonials inside the same slider or wall.

You stop editing the section

Approve a testimonial and every embed updates. No reopening the Wix editor to add a quote to a repeater.

One embed, every Wix page

Drop the same snippet on the home page, a service page, and the contact page, each set to a different layout.

§ 4 STEPS

How it works

From one request link to embedded proof in four steps

01

Collect or import

Send one request link for video and text testimonials, and import the reviews you already earned.

02

Pick the layout

Choose a slider, a wall, or a single quote for each spot on your Wix site, and style it to your template.

03

Paste the embed

In the Wix editor, add an embed element where the section goes and paste the snippet.

04

Approve and forget it

Every testimonial you approve appears in the embedded section without touching the editor again.

Every plan mixes video testimonials and written quotes in one Wall of Love, and you embed it anywhere with a lightweight testimonial widget.

§ DETAIL

In depth

Testimonials on Wix: what to know before you build the section

What Wix gives you natively, and where it stops

A Wix testimonial section is normally built one of two ways. You add a pre-designed testimonial strip and type the quotes in, or you build a repeater backed by a Wix CMS collection so the quotes come from a content list. The repeater route is the better one and it genuinely works for text. What neither route gives you is a way for the customer to submit the testimonial themselves, a record of who consented to be quoted, or inline video. Every addition is an editing session, which is why so many Wix testimonial strips still show the same three quotes from the launch.

The embed route, and the two Wix embed elements

Wix offers more than one way to put third-party code on a page, and the difference matters. The HTML embed element renders your code inside an iframe with a fixed frame you size yourself, which is simple and works everywhere but means the section does not grow and shrink with its content. Wix also offers a custom element option that loads a script on the page itself rather than in an iframe, which handles variable height far better; availability depends on your Wix plan, so check the editor before you promise a client a specific layout. Either way the content lives in your testimonial widget library, not in the Wix editor, so marketing can reorder proof without a site build.

Slider or wall: choose by page, not by habit

A rotating slider fits the narrow band between two Wix strips, but rotation hides most of your proof and visitors rarely wait for the second slide. A full Wall of Love on its own page shows the crowd at once and is the stronger close for a visitor who is comparing you against two other options. The pattern that works on most Wix sites is a slider on the home page and a wall behind a link that says see all reviews.

Google reviews and page speed

Wix sites already carry the editor runtime, fonts, and imagery, so a heavy third-party review script is often what pushes a mobile score over the edge. Keep to one embed rather than stacking a testimonial app and a separate reviews app: if you also want Google reviews on the page, pull them into the same Google reviews widget and show both sources in one section. For placement ideas, see how to display testimonials on your website.

§ ANSWERS

Frequently asked

wix testimonials: the questions people actually ask

How do I add testimonials to my Wix website?

Two routes. Add a Wix testimonial strip or a repeater backed by a CMS collection and type each quote in by hand, or paste a one line embed into an embed element and render a live testimonial section. The embed is the only route that updates itself, supports customer video, and keeps a consent record as your proof grows past a handful of quotes.

Does Wix have a testimonial app?

Yes, the Wix App Market has several testimonial and review apps, most with their own monthly fee, their own branding on the free tier, and caps on how many testimonials or videos you can show. An embed does the same job without a second subscription tied to the platform, and it moves with you if the site ever leaves Wix.

How do I add a testimonial slider to Wix?

For a static slider, use a Wix slideshow or a repeater and enter the quotes manually. For a live one, add an embed element where the slider should sit and paste the snippet: it renders your approved testimonials as a rotating set, styled to your fonts and colors, and new approvals appear without reopening the editor.

Can I add Google reviews to a Wix site?

Yes. Wix does not pull your Google reviews natively, so you either install a reviews app or import the reviews you have earned and display them through the same embedded widget as your collected testimonials. Importing keeps everything in one section and one script instead of two, and the reviews stay attributed to the customer who wrote them.

Can I put video testimonials on Wix?

Wix can host a video you upload, but there is no native flow that lets a customer record one and no testimonial layout that plays it inline. A testimonial embed handles both ends: the customer records in the browser from a link you send, with no login and no app, and the finished clip plays inside the slider or wall alongside your text quotes.

Will a testimonial embed slow down my Wix site?

A heavy review app will, especially on mobile, because Wix pages already load a substantial runtime. A lightweight embed loads asynchronously and renders without shifting layout, so Core Web Vitals hold. The bigger risk is stacking apps: one embed that shows both testimonials and imported reviews beats a testimonial app plus a separate reviews app.

Social proof that converts, collected, not chased

Send one link, your customers record a video or text testimonial, and you embed a beautiful wall of proof on your site in minutes. Text and video, unlimited, at one flat price.
