Trustindex Alternative: Google Reviews Widget and Video Testimonials You Own

Trustindex is a well built review aggregator and it is priced better than most of the widget category. It does not meter views, which is worth saying loudly because almost everything else in this space does: your widget keeps rendering on the day your traffic spikes.

The short answer

Trustindex is a review display layer, not a testimonial platform, and the distinction decides whether it fits you. Verified on its own pricing page in August 2026, Single is $65 a year for 1 domain, Pro is $125 a year for 5 domains, and Ultimate is $349 a year for unlimited domains, with every tier including unlimited widgets, unlimited views and unlimited reviews across 133 review platforms. Two add-ons are billed separately at $29 per source per year each, Automatic AI Reply and Google Business SEO Analysis. That is inexpensive and the absence of a view cap puts it ahead of the view metered widget tools. The catch is what it can show you. Trustindex reads reviews from platforms you do not control, Google, Facebook, Tripadvisor, Booking.com, Airbnb, Yelp and OpenTable among them, so the asset lives on their servers and follows their moderation rules. Its own feature list and widget catalog contain no video testimonial recording and no video review widget; the only video item is a YouTube Gallery widget that embeds channel content you already published. If your proof problem is that you have plenty of Google reviews and want them on your site cheaply, Trustindex is a good buy. If your customers will never post publicly, or you want video, it cannot help, because the reviews have to exist somewhere else first.

§ THE WEDGE

Where we differ

One flat, unlimited plan for text and video, embedded fast

Flat and unlimited

Unlimited text and video, unlimited walls, brands, and seats. No per-space, per-seat, or per-minute metering, so the bill stays predictable as you scale.

Video without a premium tax

Video is truly unlimited with no per-minute meter, so a two minute clip and a twenty second clip cost you the same, which is nothing extra.

One-link collection, no login

Customers record a video or type a quote from one link, with no app and no account, which is why more people actually finish.

Lightweight, brand-native embed

The Wall of Love loads instantly and matches your site, so it lifts conversion instead of hurting your Core Web Vitals.

Import from anywhere

Bring in the testimonials and reviews you already have so your proof lives in one place you own.

Honest about the tradeoffs

If your current tool already fits, it is a fair choice. If flat, unlimited pricing and truly unlimited video matter, this is built for that.

§ DETAIL

In depth

Trustindex vs Testimonials: whose proof it is, and why there is no video

What Trustindex actually charges for

Domains. Not views, not reviews, not widgets. This matters because the rest of the embeddable widget category bills on widget loads, and a view meter turns your social proof off during a traffic spike. Trustindex does not do that, and it deserves credit for it. Verified on the Trustindex pricing page in August 2026:

PlanPriceDomainsViews, widgets, reviews
Free$0Limited free packageRestricted
Single$65 per year1Unlimited
Pro$125 per year5Unlimited
Ultimate$349 per yearUnlimitedUnlimited

Two things to note before you compare that with anything else. First, these are annual prices, so Single works out near $5.42 a month, and there is no month to month option advertised alongside them; you commit for a year. A 7 day trial of the paid features is offered. Second, two of the features people assume are included are add-ons charged per review source per year: Automatic AI Reply at $29 and Google Business SEO Analysis at $29, with a separate Google Review Strategy Program at $299. If you run three locations and want AI replies on each, that add-on alone is $87 a year on top of the plan.

Judged as a widget, this is good value and we are not going to pretend our flat plan is cheaper. Judged as a testimonial program, you are paying for a display case rather than for the thing displayed inside it.

Every review source is a platform somebody else owns

This is the real dividing line, and it is not a criticism of the engineering. Trustindex highlights Google, Facebook, Tripadvisor, Booking.com, Airbnb, Yelp, Expedia, eBay, Etsy, AliExpress, Hotels.com, Houzz and OpenTable, and advertises 133 review platforms in total. Look at that list and notice what every entry has in common: the review is written on their property, stored on their servers, and governed by their policies.

Three consequences follow, and only the first is obvious.

The review can be removed and you have no say. Google filters reviews it judges to violate its policies, and a suspended Business Profile takes the whole set with it. A wall built entirely from imported Google reviews is a wall a third party can empty. Second, you cannot choose what gets said, because the format is a star rating and a short paragraph written by somebody with no idea what objection your buyer has on the pricing page. Third, and this is the one that ends the conversation for a lot of companies, the review has to be posted publicly in the first place. Plenty of B2B customers cannot do that. Their marketing policy forbids naming vendors, or procurement will not sign off, or there simply is no Google Business Profile for a SaaS company sold to enterprises.

A testimonial does not have any of these problems, because your customer gives it to you directly. It can be as long as it needs to be, it can answer one specific objection, it can be video, and nobody else can take it down. The distinction is worked through properly in testimonial versus review, and the display side of the Google half is on the Google reviews widget page.

Collection that builds somebody else asset

Trustindex does collect, and it would be wrong to say otherwise. Its feature list includes automatic review invitation emails, QR codes and NFC review cards, plus ecommerce integrations that trigger requests after purchase. That is a real review generation toolkit and for a restaurant or a dental practice it works well.

Read what it does though. Each of those tools puts a customer in front of a form on Google, Facebook or another platform and asks them to write there. The volume you generate accrues to your Google Business Profile, which is genuinely valuable for local search, and it is the correct strategy if local pack ranking is what you sell against. But at the end of that campaign you own nothing new. You have raised somebody else average and rented a widget to show it.

Our request link does the opposite. The customer taps it, records a video or types a paragraph in the browser without creating an account or installing anything, and the approved result is yours to keep, export and publish wherever you like. The mechanics are on collect testimonials. Most companies should honestly do both: run Google review campaigns for local search, and collect first party testimonials for the pages where you have to persuade somebody.

There is no video anywhere in Trustindex

We checked this first hand rather than repeating what competitor roundups say, because it is the single biggest functional gap and it deserves a real citation. Trustindex publishes a features list and a widget catalog. Neither contains video testimonial recording, video review collection, or a video review widget. The collection methods named are email campaigns, QR codes, NFC cards and integrations, all of which produce written reviews. The only video related item in the entire widget catalog is a YouTube Gallery widget, which embeds content from a YouTube channel you already have, so it displays videos you produced rather than capturing one from a customer.

Whether that matters depends entirely on your plan. If you were only ever going to show a Google star rating, it does not matter at all. If a ninety second clip of a real customer explaining the problem you solved is part of how you intend to sell, then this is not a limitation you can work around with a setting, because it is a different product category. Recording, storing, transcoding and streaming video is most of the engineering in a testimonial platform, which is why display tools rarely have it. What in browser recording actually involves is on video testimonials.

Where Trustindex is genuinely the better buy

Three cases, stated plainly, because you should not switch away from something that already fits.

If you are a local business with existing Google review volume, buy Trustindex. A restaurant, clinic, salon or contractor with 200 Google reviews needs those reviews on the website and needs nothing else. $65 a year does that, with no view cap, and we cost more.

If you are in hospitality or travel, buy Trustindex. It reads Tripadvisor, Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia, Hotels.com and OpenTable. We do not aggregate any of those and have no plans to. A hotel that needs Booking.com and Tripadvisor scores in one widget should not be reading our page.

If you want cheap multi domain coverage, Trustindex Ultimate at $349 a year for unlimited domains is aggressive pricing, and an agency that only needs to display client Google ratings across many sites will struggle to beat it.

What Trustindex cannot do is get you proof that does not already exist on a public platform, capture video, or give you anything you own at the end. If none of those three matter, stay where you are.

Who should actually switch

Companies whose customers will not post publicly, and companies that want video. That is most B2B software, most agencies selling to businesses, most professional services with confidentiality obligations, and anyone whose sales cycle involves overcoming a specific objection that a five star rating does not touch.

The tell is simple. If you have happy customers who would gladly say something kind but will never open Google and write it there, no aggregator can help you, because the review it needs to import will never exist. That is a collection problem, and it is the whole reason this product exists. The B2B version of this is covered on B2B testimonials, the display side on Wall of Love, and if you are comparing view metered widgets at the same time, the Elfsight comparison covers that meter in detail. Every tool in the category, including the ones we lose to, is laid out on the best testimonial software roundup.

§ ANSWERS

Frequently asked

Trustindex alternatives: the questions buyers ask

How much does Trustindex cost?

Verified in August 2026 on the Trustindex pricing page: Single is $65 a year for 1 domain, Pro is $125 a year for 5 domains, and Ultimate is $349 a year for unlimited domains. Every tier includes unlimited widgets, unlimited views and unlimited reviews. Automatic AI Reply and Google Business SEO Analysis are add-ons at $29 per review source per year each.

Does Trustindex support video testimonials?

No. Its published features list and widget catalog contain no video testimonial recording, no video review collection and no video review widget. The collection methods it names are email campaigns, QR codes, NFC cards and ecommerce integrations, which all produce written reviews. The one video item is a YouTube Gallery widget that embeds a channel you already publish to.

Does Trustindex have a view limit?

No, and this is a real advantage over most of the widget category. All paid plans advertise unlimited views, unlimited widgets and unlimited reviews. What Trustindex meters instead is domains: one site on Single, five on Pro, unlimited on Ultimate. Your widget will not switch itself off because a page went viral, which is a genuine failure mode elsewhere.

Does Trustindex collect reviews or only display them?

Both, but the reviews it collects are posted on third party platforms. Its invitation emails, QR codes and NFC cards send your customer to write a review on Google, Facebook or another site, and Trustindex then imports and displays it. The volume builds your Google profile rather than a library of proof you own, which is the important difference from first party testimonial collection.

What is the best Trustindex alternative?

It depends which limit you hit. If you need proof from customers who will never post a public review, or you want video, you need a collection tool rather than an aggregator. If you only wanted a cheaper or better looking Google reviews widget, Trustindex is already among the cheapest without a view cap, and switching for price alone will not save you money.

Can I show Google reviews and my own testimonials together?

Yes, and it is the setup most companies should run. Google reviews carry third party credibility and help local search, while testimonials you collect can be longer, specific to one objection, and captured on video. Import the Google reviews, collect the rest with a request link, and render both in a single wall so a buyer sees one body of proof.

Is Trustindex billed monthly or annually?

Annually. The published prices are per year, so Single at $65 a year works out around $5.42 a month, and there is no month to month rate advertised next to those plans. A 7 day trial of the paid features is offered before you commit. Budget for a full year up front rather than a cancellable monthly subscription.
