For a Shopify store that wants photo reviews under its products, Loox is the cheaper and better fitted buy: Loox Convert costs $49.99 a month with 300 orders included and $50 for each extra 300, and Loox Unlimited caps the bill at $299.99. Trustpilot starts at $99 a month on Starter and $319 on Plus, per domain, on a 12 month prepaid contract, and product reviews are an add-on on every paid plan. Trustpilot is not a worse Loox. It sells a different thing: a public company profile that a shopper can check before trusting a store they have never heard of.
So the real question is whether your buyers look you up on Trustpilot before they check out. If they do, Loox cannot replace that, however good its photo gallery is. If they do not, a Plus contract is roughly $3,800 a year spent on something your product pages do not need. Loox prices below were read from Loox's pricing page, Shopify App Store listing and help center in September 2026; Trustpilot prices from its pricing page and plan comparison table on September 30, 2026. All figures are US dollars.

How much does Loox cost per month?
Loox costs $0 on Beginner, $49.99 a month on Convert and $299.99 a month on Unlimited. The free plan is smaller than it looks: Loox's help center says it covers 500 orders in total after your trial, not 500 a month, and it has no video reviews or referrals. Convert includes 300 orders and adds a $50 block for every further 300, charged automatically through Shopify, so a busy month raises the bill without asking.
| Orders a month | Convert | Unlimited | Cheaper Loox plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| 300 | $49.99 | $299.99 | Convert |
| 600 | $99.99 | $299.99 | Convert |
| 1,200 | $199.99 | $299.99 | Convert |
| 1,800 | $299.99 | $299.99 | Either |
| 3,000 | $499.99 | $299.99 | Unlimited |
The crossover at 1,800 orders is the number to remember. A seasonal store can sit below it for eleven months and above it in December, so either pay the $50 blocks for the peak or switch plans twice. The full ladder and what each tier unlocks are on our Loox pricing page.
How much does Trustpilot cost per month?
Trustpilot costs $0 on Free with 50 invitations a month, then from $99 a month on Starter with 100 invitations, $319 on Plus with 300 and $799 on Premium with 1,000. Enterprise is quoted by sales. Every price is a starting price per domain, billed on a 12 month prepaid contract, and Trustpilot says the final quote reflects your traffic, business size and revenue.
Two lines in the plan comparison table matter for a store. Starter is only sold to new small businesses with up to $5M in revenue, so most established brands begin at Plus. And Product Reviews is an add-on on Starter, Plus, Premium and Enterprise, never included, so stars under each product cost extra on top of the plan. The whole table, with the cost per invitation, is on our Trustpilot pricing page.
Loox vs Trustpilot cost at four store sizes
Here is the cheapest plan of each that covers a store sending one review request per order, at four volumes. Trustpilot's figures are starting prices before the Product Reviews add-on.
| Orders a month | Loox | Trustpilot | Yearly gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | $49.99 on Convert | $99 on Starter if eligible, otherwise $319 on Plus | About $590 to $3,230 more for Trustpilot |
| 300 | $49.99 on Convert | $319 on Plus | About $3,230 more for Trustpilot |
| 800 | $149.99 on Convert | $799 on Premium | About $7,790 more for Trustpilot |
| 2,500 | $299.99 on Unlimited | Enterprise quote, or Premium inviting 1,000 buyers | Depends on the quote |
Plenty of Trustpilot customers do not invite every buyer. A store on Plus that sends its 300 invitations to a sample of orders gets a steady flow of company reviews for $3,828 a year, whatever its volume. That is a fair way to use it, but it is still roughly six times the cost of Loox Convert at 300 orders, and it buys a different asset.
Is Loox better than Trustpilot?
For product pages, yes. Loox asks verified buyers for a photo of what they bought and shows those photos where the purchase decision happens, which is the reason fashion, beauty and home brands install it. It includes product reviews instead of selling them as a module, costs less at every volume in the table above, and bills month to month.
Trustpilot is better at the one thing Loox does not try to do. A Loox gallery lives on your store, and a skeptical shopper knows you chose to show it. A TrustScore lives on a site you do not own, anyone can post to it, and it shows up when someone searches your brand name plus "reviews". For a new store, an expensive product or a category with a lot of scams, that outside score can do more for conversion than another twenty photos.
Can you use Loox and Trustpilot together?
Yes, and it is a common setup for growing DTC brands: Loox for photo reviews on product pages, Trustpilot for the company score in search results and a footer badge. The cost is two requests landing in the same inbox. Split them by purpose and timing, with Loox asking about the product a few days after delivery and Trustpilot asking about the service on a sample of orders, and keep the two invitation templates clearly different so customers do not think they already answered.
Before paying for both, check that reviews are doing anything for revenue. Compare conversion on products with and without photo reviews, and branded search before and after a TrustScore appears, in a marketing dashboard that puts your store and ad channels side by side. A tool that does not move a number you can see is the first one to cancel at renewal, and only one of these two lets you cancel next month.
Which one should you pay for?
Buy Loox if you are on Shopify, your products sell on how they look, and your customers do not search for your brand on Trustpilot. Start on the Convert trial, watch whether the photo gallery lifts conversion, and move to Unlimited once you pass about 1,800 orders a month. If photos matter less than price, compare it with Judge.me first, which costs $0 or $15 a month on its paid plan with no order meter; our Judge.me vs Loox comparison covers that choice.
Buy Trustpilot if shoppers check review sites before they trust you, a retail or payments partner asks for a public score, or you sell outside Shopify. Budget the yearly total rather than the monthly figure, and ask for the Product Reviews add-on in the quote if you want stars under products too.
The job neither of them does
Both tools deal in reviews: a star rating and a few lines, tied to a product or to your company profile. Neither is built to get a customer to tell, on camera and in their own words, who they are, what problem they had and what changed after they bought, with permission to put it on your homepage, your about page or a wholesale pitch. Loox asks buyers about products. Trustpilot only offers testimonial widgets from Premium at $799 a month.
That is the job we built Testimonials for. You send one link to any customer, including wholesale accounts and partners who never placed a store order, they record a video or write a quote in the browser with no login, consent is captured with the submission, and you approve it into a Wall of Love or a widget on any page of any site. Plans are flat, from $49 a month or $288 a year, with no order meter, no invitation allowance and no per domain price. For how this sits next to a review app on a store, see Shopify testimonials.
